Throughout her life, one of Marlene’s deepest aspirations has been to lead a meaningful and fulfilling life in retirement, feeling content, valued, and connected to her environment, without being a burden on her loved ones.
This collaborative endeavor brought Marlene together with like-minded individuals who share a passion for social work rooted in heritage and authenticity, yet guided by innovation.
The Souq Zaman project offered Marlene and others a unique opportunity to give back to their community, providing a sense of security and reassurance that – even in later years – they can contribute meaningfully to a cause that benefits both themselves and those around them.
على امتداد حياتها، كان أحد هواجس مَارلين وأهم أحلامها أن تكون مرحلة تقاعدها عن العمل، مرحلة فيها اطمئنان، ليست عبأ على من تُحب، ولها قيمة ومعنى لا سيما في بيئتها ومحيطها.
فكان هذا المشروع التعاوني الذي جمعها مع أناس لديهم هموما مماثلة، وحب العمل الاجتماعي المرتبط بالابتكار المبني على التراث والاصالة.
مشروع "سوق زمان"، منح مَارلين كما زملائها، فرصة جديدة للعطاء، ووفر لهم أمانا واطمئنانا بأن شيخوختهم يمكن أن تنتج عملا نافعا لهم ولمجتمعهم.
